The menu isn't anything like the ESP GEN2 either. It takes some getting used to.

COOL First time using the GEN III for a ASM pretest. COOL. The graphing is just plain out cool. The idea to print it out is even better.

 Honey I'm home.
What did you do this week dear.
Well I wrote a program on the new ASM machine to " Raise the Dyno."
But dear you wrote that program last wek.
Honey, I wrote that same program the week before and the week before that and for the next 3 weeks I'm going to keep writing programs to tell them "the Dyno is being lifted.  Gotta keep food on the table.
Oh dear you are so thoughtful of the family I think I will give you a hummer tonight.

Why is the GEN 3 soo slow? My SPX machine is much faster and it's ancient.
When entering visual inspection, if you make a mistake, you would have to use the mouse to click the next component to enter pass or fail, you can't even press "tab", up or down to make changes. Must use mouse. Ghetto..

Also, there is no longer the ability to reset the computer anymore... Only 1 power button at the back.

Voltron
you have to hold them all down.  It brings up a task manager option.  far right corner of the screen is a sub menu with arrow, click it and it gives you the option for restart or shutdown

For all you ESP/OPUS Gen 3 owners.
ESP/OPUS is now aware of some analyzers "freezing", (RPM, Count down timers,
wheel speed numbers Do Not advance)
I've been told by my Technician that his boss in Sacramento says a Software
fix is in the works to correct "freezing".

I went seven whole months and many hundreds of smogs with just some annoying pauses, but I got that message twice last week.  I hope it's not the start of something ugly.

I have to say that even though my GEN3 is still plagued with its fair share of problems they have all been related to they dyno control box left over from the GEN2. Dyno loading issues, controlling the lift, and scale issues

My whole ESP GEN2 set up is still running strong too (I hope I didn't jinx it)

Mine with windows 10 has lost the Printer drivers twice. My guy claims they will all be windows 10 soon.
Need to go that direction to be inter net ready.

I have the Clayton where you need to park on the scales. My problem is every time I go push the button for the weight, as in tell the machine , "yes this is the weight" IT JUMPS UP OR DOWN. Then it tells me the weight is wrong.
trying to get a reading? Lots of LUCK!

So, why in the HELL does it default to Pulse Air, when Pump Air is used MORE?

Re: ESP Gen 3 Review

My gripe is why doesn't it know if a vehicle is front or rear wheel drive? The GEN 2 knew with only a few wrong.

Also why does it keep saying it is raising the lift when it knows the lift has been up the whole time? The GEN 2 knew that too. It does this twice in a row.

Funny the SPX never asked. It also never asked for Timing RPM.
Why does it have colors for caps when the colors are not on the machine?

Re: ESP Gen 3 Review

Another odd thing between the GEN2 and GEN3 is the order that you scan the calibration gas labels. Gen2 starts with HIGH then LOW then ZERO. Gen3 starts with ZERO then LOW then HIGH. I'm calibrating both now and I always start to do the GEN3 in the wrong order.
