Re: Score dropped to 0.09

STAR is Racist
Did you get a citation 2 years ago? I know the scores are bogus but otherwise it's hard to drop down that low.

failure rate guys i think plays a big role on score.
i am doing the same thing as i always do.
before i was sending away the customers with the check engine light on to fix it and come back now i am testing them.
kept my similar vehicle failure rate above the state average  for past year and my score vent up almost 0.4 points comparing to january 2019.

Eventually you will get a Notice Of STAR Invalidation from BAR.
Do No Bother with the Informal Appeal. A waste of time!

Contact Automotive Defense Specialists in San Francisco.
On-line Web Site: automotivedefensespecialists.com
Office: 415-392-2886
William Ferreira is overwhelmed with clients
requesting his services to take STAR Invalidations
to the "Formal Appeal Hearing".
I cannot say how often he gets STAR Invalidations
Overturned.

You fell below .10 FPR

It is Not related to two Failed consecutive Short Term measures.

My score dropped to .03, but it was circling the drain these last two years.

Im still star, but will be expecting 2 invalidation letters soon. I'm having lawyer respond for me. It's important that you don't miss any of their deadlines for response.

Id represent my self, but it got me no where the first few times. Had a lawyer represent me after and got what I wanted.

These faggots know their STAR shit will never fly in state court.

I didn't get a lawyer and I didn't lose STAR. I first did the "informal appeal" and then when that was denied I did the "formal appeal" and could keep my STAR until the "hearing". By the next cycle my tech's score was back above 0.10 so I never heard another thing and never lost STAR.

Several years ago a friend of mine who owns a local shop did just an informal appeal and was allowed to keep his STAR.
People are usually shocked when they find out I'm not a very good electrician.

A few years back , I did some of my own research of  on IGS and noticed that there seemed to be "poison" cars. Some stations would have 15-20 IGS vehicles in a period but still stay below 2% and other stations would get deviated by a single vehicile.  I can't say which vehciles are IGS hazardous although Saturns appeared more than once in this small sub group. Didn't happen often, but it does happen.

So! What was I talking about? What does this have to do with FPR? Oh yeah...

One possibility could be that FPR is affected in much the same manner. Let's say you pass a late model Camry and it fails next time, this will likely impact your score  harder but how much?  Remember the stations with high IGS that are just dandy and the station with one event gets deviated?  This is the fucking STAR program and just like IGS, all bets are off when it comes to proportions. Sumpins driving scores in the toilet, and like you said, you ain't doing nothing different.

Here's another one while I'm at it.  Let's say you're a station (like mine) where the majority of vehciles you test are cars you tested last time.  With electronic invoicing, you know which ones you previously passed when you generate the estimate so you can run out and give it a quick look and check monitors, and if  there's a problem, you can have them take care of it and come back and they always do and are grateful to boot! No loss of business and we sure are proud of our consistent .9's!

While we're at it, skewing the fuck out of the averages and driving down scores for everyone else in the program, we can screw the competing bastards over directly by NOT pre-scanning and failing them at every opportunity! Ain't this a great country?

Sarcasm doesn't always come off in print so I better clarify that I DON'T do this!
If it ain't broke, break it.

Troll
Which is more important- input from this site, or waiting for a bar rep on the phone for your questions-?-not that I'm any of a believer of any good from bar reps, but you need to PRIORITIZE your time.
Or just ask Alexa or Siri

you will get a registered letter saying you are going to lose your STAR status. It will also explain your appeal options. Reply right away when you get the notice. You have about a week to file an appeal.
